Job Summary:
The Production Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment in a production environment. The role involves monitoring production processes, ensuring quality standards, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. The Production Operator will work closely with the production team to meet daily production targets while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the control room equipment, production processes and equipment and ensures that the plant is operating within normal parameters.
• Ensure that all subcontractors are monitored for safe working practices and follows the permit to work system.
• Carry out process isolations as described in the safe working practices and procedures and ensuring that all Company guidelines and regulatory requirements and procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Ensure that all platform consumables and stock items such as chemicals are maintained at optimum levels.
• Plan and prioritizes work in accordance with Lead Operator’s instructions. • Ensure that an accurate and comprehensive production log is maintained.
Qualification, Skills & Competencies:
• HND/BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years post NYSC relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Skilled in Oil/Gas production operating systems
• Good knowledge of relevant E&P operations, procedures, and practices
• Knowledge of HSE and process safety requirements
• Skilled in computer aided operations, maintenance, and communication systems
• Good oral and written Technical English capability (communication skills)
• Ability to read P&IDs and schematics will be an added advantage.
